Installing luxurious, dark wallpaper may quickly make a room feel cosier and warmer. Alternatively, if you have a tiny area that you need to make feel lighter and bigger, neutral and lighter wallpaper can give interest and brightness to the room.

Vertical and horizontal wallpaper stripes are two common styles, and simulated wooden boards may also help a space appear larger. Vertical stripes, or ones that run up and down, may help a room appear larger than it is. Conversely, a room may look larger than it actually is if the stripes are applied horizontally. Either one works well for an accent wall or two, and a quality striped wallpaper may help you achieve your design goals for the space. Wood boards, oriented in a particular direction, can produce an impression similar to that of thick wood wallpaper.
